Surgery went well. I had to be there at 6:45 and I went into surgery at 8:15. I woke up in recovery around 9:15 and didn't have a clue where I was for about 3-4 minutes. I am pretty sure I remember the doctor coming in but I have no clue what he said to me. I have a post-op appointment next Wednesday so I am sure I will find out then what they did to me. My knee is pretty sore, but I am keeping up with the pain medicine so it's not too bad. I thought I would do a quick update as I am not supposed to be sitting here at my computer. So, it's back to bed I go.

Happy Memorial Day!
We just got back from a fun-filled, long race weekend at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC for the NASCAR races. I have never really been a fan of the races, but after this weekend I might be a changed person. I have to admit that going to the races and watching all the excitement happen first hand was pretty cool. Michael's company is a big sponsor for NASCAR. We went to the CARQUEST 300 on Saturday and the Coca-Cola 600 yesterday. We were at the track for approx. 24 hours over the course of the two days we were there. I think it was a little overkill but it was fun. We toured the Hendricks Motorsports complex where they make the cars, engines, etc. for Casey Mears, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon. Casey Mears is the driver for the CARQUEST/Kellogg's car.
I even got my picture with him...
Ok, so it was a cardboard cut-out. I could have gotten my picture with him the night he came to the hotel to speak to the CARQUEST folk, but we didn't wait in line. We decided to head up to our room to sleep instead.
We took tours of the pit and also the garage area. Unfortunately we didn't take the camera with us the day of the garage tour because I didn't want to carry it around. We didn't actually know we were doing that tour or I would have brought it. This is what we could have gotten close to had we brought the camera. We were up close and personal with the crew of the cars, NASCAR officials and the cars. We watched the races from a suite. I don't think it would have been the same if we had actually been in the grandstands watching it. We didn't hear the loudness of the cars like we would have or felt the rumbling. I can't complain though since they did provide us with food and drink. During the race we listened with scanners to the crews and drivers talking to each other. I would click over to any of the cars that would make pit stops or that crashed to hear what they would say. I think the race would have been much more boring without the use of the scanners. At the end of the big race there were two people that could have won and the person that was ahead told his crew he had a flat front tire on the last 3 laps. So the second place guy, Kasey Kahne, won. It was pretty exciting.
Tomorrow I am in for another fun-filled morning. I am having my knee surgery. I am hoping all goes well and I won't be in too much pain afterwards. I could use your prayers and thoughts. I have to be at the surgery center at 6:45 AM! UGH!! Right now I am off to pick up the house since I will be laid up for 3 days in bed. That is going to be SOOOOO much fun!

American Idol...YAY!!

I am so happy that David Cook won! I was hoping it would be him. Since I live in Utah I guess I should have been pulling for David Archuletta but I wasn't. Don't get me wrong, he has a great voice, but his song choices just didn't do it for me. He is too young to be singing the songs he was singing. All his songs sounded the same to me. Now David Cook on the other hand, I LOVE his voice and the song choices. I can't wait for his CD to come out!!

Iron Man
Cameron made me a coupon book for Mother's Day. The last coupon was for babysitting. I asked him who he was going to babysit and he said the dog. Too cute!

.....waiting!
The wait is on. For what you ask? I applied to the Dental Hygiene school on Thursday. I'm pretty sure I am going to be accepted, but they would be putting me in to start the Fall of 2010! I am hoping that it really doesn't take that long. I'm hoping it is one year or less.
What's on your agenda today? We have a soccer game to go to then I *think* I will come home and primer the bedroom to get it ready to paint. I also want to decide what I want to do with the front flower bed.

Catching up
I forgot to post that Cameron participated in the Raingutter Regatta at the last scout pack meeting. He had fun decorating the boat and getting it ready for the big day. Doesn't he look so big? I can't believe how fast the time has gone by and how big he is getting. He is working hard at finishing up his accomplishments to obtain his Wolf. I was told I need to have more children since he is getting this done so quickly. I don't think that is going to happen. Here's a few recent pictures of Lucy. She too is getting big, but I think she is done growing. She is just 16 months old now. This blanket she is lying on used to belong to Cameron. She has decided that it is hers. Oh well!
Shannon, Celeste and I went to the Utah Women's Expo yesterday. We went because Nikki, a friend of ours, gave us tickets so we could go to the CTMH warehouse sale. The sale was a madhouse. I went to see what stamps they had and I could barely move from my spot because of all the women reaching in and trying to get stamp sets. After we sorted a bunch of sets that Shannon and Celeste had grabbed I only walked away with 5 sets and also ended up getting some paper packs and card sets. We then walked around the expo and looked at all the goods people were selling. It was fun. We were there from 10:45 to about 3:30 or so. It could have been later...I don't remember when the cupcakes arrived. We waited for an hour for this one booth to have their cupcakes that we had seen in the morning. Shannon overheard that they would have more in an hour. So during that hour Celeste and I had a free chair massage and then we walked around some more. After the hour was over the cupcakes had arrived but they were NOTHING like the cupcakes they had earlier in the day. The ones in the morning were HUGE with these orchids on them. The ones we ate were small with VERY sweet frosting on them.
Today I haven't done much of anything. Cameron had a soccer game this morning at 9:00 then we went out to breakfast and headed to Best Buy to purchase the boys some video games. Cameron got a game for his Nintendo DS Lite and Michael got one for the Xbox 360. I didn't get anything. What a bummer! I guess I could have gone next door to one of my favorite places in the universe...Barnes & Noble.
Can I just say how happy I am for Bloggers auto save function? I just accidentally closed my browser and freaked out since I had typed all the words above these last two sentences. I would NOT have retyped it. I probably would have cried. Ok, not really but it sounded good.
Anyway, back to my day. After that adventure we came home so they could play their games. I folded a load of laundry and then hung out in Camerons room and ended up falling asleep on his not so comfortable bed with the dog for about an hour. It wasn't a good sleep because I was cold. Michael has been playing the video game he bought since we got home about 7.5 hours ago! I have been upstairs in my scrapbook room since I woke up around 3:00. I have been cleaning off my desk so I could see the top of it again and decided to tackle the scrap table. I can now see it and it looks great. I also put more cds on my computer into iTunes.
I forgot that I haven't posted a pic of Cameron in his hockey gear. Here he is...he was playing a game of Ice Soccer.
We won't be doing too much tomorrow. Church, lunch and relaxation. My newest co-worker and her family are going to meet us at our church. She has been searching for one for awhile and I invited her to ours. After church I plan on catching up on some tv shows we have TIVO'd and reading too.
This is long enough. Good Night!

Got my grade!!
I have been waiting not so patiently all day for my grade for physiology to be posted. I am not as happy as I could be...I got an A-. I desperately wanted a solid A. I am happy that it isn't a B+ though...I was .25 away from getting a B+.
I went and saw the knee surgeon on Monday after my final. I am having surgery on the 20th of May. They are going in for a debridement of cartilage. They aren't sure if it is meniscus (the cushion between the bones) or the cartilage on the end of my femur. I have to be on my back with my knee up for 3 DAYS. I wish it was just hours, but it's not. I can only get up to go to the bathroom and do the exercises. Oh how fun is this NOT going to be? I can only imagine.
Nothing much new to report. Until I write again...have a great day...week...month!

Bad Blogger
I have been super busy with work, school and all of Cameron's activities that I haven't had time to update the ol' blog.
Cameron is doing great in hockey. He gets better each time we go. I really need to make some time to take him to open skate so he can practice just skating too. In school he had an African project that he needed to do. This is what he did for the actual project...he had the Black Rhino.School is almost over for this semester and I am SOOO looking forward to it. I have my last test tomorrow and my final on Monday. Not looking forward to tomorrows test, but I need to get an A or a high B on it so I hopefully get an A out of the class. I had my lab final on Friday and I only missed 1.5. I got a 97% out of the lab which when combined with the actual class equates to a test score. I have to get off the computer to go study some things I am not absolutely sure on. I will be studying most of the day Friday and during the weekend for my final. Please think happy test thoughts for me.
I am signed up for the last of my prerequisites for Summer. I will be taking Communications and Sociology. I am taking them both online so hopefully they won't be too difficult. I can't imagine they would be more difficult than the classes I had together last semester and the physiology class I have currently. I will be applying to the dental hygiene program on May 8th. I hope the wait isn't too long...I want to start NOW!
Michael and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary on Sunday. I bought him a new pair of shoes since he was wearing the sames ones every day. His company implemented a new uniform policy and for some reason he hasn't worn black shoes with his khakis so I bought new brown ones so he won't wear out the older ones quite as fast. I also bought him a massage as he really enjoys them and desperately needed one. He bought me this..
Well, we actually celebrated on Saturday, but anyway. It has been a great 12 years with mostly ups and very very few downs. I am happy to say that he is my husband and I love him VERY much. I'm very thankful the Lord did not take him away from me nearly 2.5 years ago in that tragic accident. I am hoping to have MANY more years with him. We've actually been together for almost 21 years! Yes, he is my high school sweetheart. My parents were high school sweeties too and have been married for 38 years now.

Looks like a beautiful day!
I let the dog out this morning and this is what I saw. It was just to pretty not to share it with everyone.Have a glorious day. I sure hope it doesn't snow again like it did yesterday. What is up with Mother Nature? I heard a place near my hometown got 6-7 inches....that's Western Washington...just doesn't happen there.

Happy almost Easter
I made cupcakes for the first time ever in my 35 year old life! Here they are:Aren't they cute? These ones aren't as good as the first ones I frosted. The first ones I did are for church tomorrow. On Easter the youth group has a bake sale. So this is our contribution. This little plate is for one of our sets of neighbors. I figured I didn't need the extra ones so I am sending 6 on to live with someone else. I used a cake batter...did not want to make them from scratch. I thought it would be fun to get the Funfetti mix. Cameron and his friend that was over had the very first two. They were so excited to have a cupcake and they hadn't even had dinner yet.
I had to go to the physical therapist on Thursday. I've been having some problems with one of my knees and just couldn't take it any longer. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he recommended therapy for it. I had an appointment for this coming Tuesday but while at work on Thursday it really started hurting me in a way it never had before. Before Thursday it was a pretty mild annoyance of constantly popping with occasional grinding. Two years ago or so I fell while walking the dog and ended up getting cellulitis and bursitis in my right knee. It would bother me a little bit while running last year but nothing a knee brace couldn't fix. Anyway, on Thursday I went to PT for the first time. The therapist is actually my bosses brother so I already knew him. He thinks I have a torn meniscus. This is the cartilage that acts as a cushion between your femur and lower bones. He said I need to do these special exercises for two weeks and then follow up with an orthopedic surgeon. I am going to go to the one that saw Michael about his knee problems. The PT said that I most likely will end up getting an MRI and then having surgery. So not fun and not what I wanted to hear!
Cameron says that everyone needs to go to church tomorrow so the Easter bunny can hide eggs for the kids to find when they return home from church. He thinks this because every time we get home there are eggs to be found. Today was the city egg hunt and Cameron told me the other day that he didn't want to go this year. He said he was too old. We've gone every year and I always look forward to it. I was a little bummed this year when he said he was too old. I guess my little guy is growing up!

I've been tagged by my friend Shannon.
1. I have been married for almost 12 years next month but I have been with Michael for almost 21 years!
2. I don't really like to cook, but I used to sell Pampered Chef where I had to cook all the time. I want to get better about cooking.
3. I'm a clean freak. Although since last semester my house hasn't really shown who I really am.
4. I hoard books! I have 228 books on my shelves that I have not read and I am always buying more. I also go to the library often even though I have books to read here. I even have all the books I own listed on my computer in a program called "Books".
5. I don't like tomatoes, but I love salsa and will sometimes use ketchup.
6. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue.
7. When I first went to college I wanted to be a Spanish teacher. I had 5 years of Spanish and then had to start reading novels in college and decided that it wasn't for me. So, I changed my major to Psychology. I wanted to go into Child psychology. I'm happy I am not doing that and am now pursuing my dental hygiene degree.
I am heading over to Shannon's house to go to lunch and then see 27 Dresses. I have wanted to see this movie since it came out and Michael wouldn't want to see it.
Skating, scouts, school & other ramblings
I know, I know...it's been a long time since I posted. This post is dedicated to my mom and Shannon who have both commented that I need to post a new entry.
Cameron passed out of Level 2 skating on the first try. He is thrilled because now he can start his hockey skills classes. He will start those on April 3rd. There are 4 5-week sessions and then I think he will actually start playing teams. Now I have to spend some money and buy him some hockey equipment. For now while he is in the skills classes he gets to use their helmets, skates and stick. I have to buy him gloves, shin pads, elbow pads and something else that I can't remember.
I don't know if I officially mentioned that Cameron joined Boy Scouts. He is really enjoying it. The second week after we started was the big pack meeting. He received his Bobcat award and could then start working towards his Wolf. We're hoping to have most of his achievements completed for the Wolf by the next pack meeting on the 27th. He is almost there. He built a bird house last weekend with a little help from Michael. Michael cut the wood on the table saw for him and then Cameron pretty much did the rest. School is going okay for me. I just got back my second test and it wasn't as great as I would have liked...I got an 83.4%. I'm hoping this will be my lowest test score and I will get to drop it. We have our next test in about 3 weeks. You better believe that I will be studying my hiney off to get an A on that test. She has said it is our hardest test as it is on the endocrine system and I have MANY hormones to memorize. Spring break is this coming week so no school for me, but I do plan on getting together with the girls to study. Then the next week my boss is going on vacation so no work for me, but I will have school so I will also be studying for the test then too.
We are STILL working on finishing the painting in our house. I had a little accident a few weeks ago. You need to click on the picture to get the full effect.Michael was in Nashville and I was scared to death to call him about this. We have been keeping the paint cans in the house because it has been so cold out in the garage. I went to the other side of the bed to grab a can of paint and tripped over the bedding while heading back out of the room and OOPS. The paint can went flying out of my hand, dropped on the floor and opened. I screamed and then started to freak out! Cameron came running to see if I was okay. I was in hysterics since there was paint EVERYWHERE! I said, "Dad is going to kill me!" Cameron told me if I needed to blame someone that I could blame him. How sweet that my little child would want to take the blame for such a terrible accident. I told him no way was I going to blame him. I seriously did not know what to do. I grabbed something to scoop up as much paint as I could and then grabbed a small washcloth. I have no idea what I was going to do with the small towel though. I did break down and call Michael. I was crying pretty good when he got on the phone. Thank goodness he was at the airport and not on the plane. He told me what to do. I would not have done it if I didn't have him to tell me. He told me to keep it wet and use the carpet cleaner to suck it all up. So, I poured buckets of water, scrubbed and sucked it up. It took me almost 3 hours to get it looking like this!
Later that night I noticed some paint had made its way into the hall and had dried. I still haven't attempted to do anything with those spots. There is also some paint that I missed near the baseboard behind the hamper. Who knows, we may end up getting new carpet some day and it won't really matter that I missed this.
I had to go to the eye doctor yesterday because my right eye had been having some problems on Thursday. A few weeks ago I went for my normal yearly exam and told him my right eye had been burning. He told me to use some rewetting drops for it and it got better. Thursday my eye starting burning again so I used the drop and it didn't really help. By lunch time my eye was VERY blurry and I was getting headache because I could see just fine out of my other eye. Well, I called him yesterday and he wanted me to come in so he could look at it. He put some fluorescent drops in my eye and took a picture. I have a scratched cornea. He said it looks like it is healing, but I have antibiotics, drops and ointment to use for a few days. It feels better and isn't nearly as blurry now.
This was a LONG post. I have been tagged by Shannon and will post that in another entry.

Hello! Hello!
So, I haven't updated in awhile...sue me! I've been busy painting still and studying. I swear that is all I do. Yesterday was a busy day:
Clean house
Lunch with Michael
Donate blood
Get a rock chip in my window
Take car to get rock chip fixed
Pick up Cameron
Take Cameron to dentist
Grocery shop
Take Cameron to ice skating
Eat dinner
Work on cub scout stuff with Cameron
Watch TV
Fall asleep watching TV
Go to bed
I bet you want to go to bed just reading what I had to do yesterday.
I got the results of my first physiology test last Friday. I got a 92.3%. This is good considering I did tell my instructor that I was going to get an A. If only that can remain true for the following tests.
Cameron passed out of level 1 skating after just 2 rounds of it. He started level 2 yesterday, they did a lot of skating backwards which is what he really needs to work on. He also started Cub Scouts last week. He really liked it and looked forward to going again today. He will be getting his Bobcat badge at the pack meeting next week and then we can start on his Wolf badge.
I would post some pictures, but again, I am too lazy to head downstairs to get my camera.

Hello!
I am still here. I've been busy studying for a test that I finally took yesterday. I'm hoping for at least a "B" on it. I am so tired of the snow...I want it to be warm. This is what we woke up to last Sunday. The first pic is my neighbors house across the street. He was having a heck of a time with his snow plow since the snow was so tall. We only have a shovel and the work was HARD. We decided that we need to buy a snow blower so after the drive was shoveled a bit we left to find one. The only problem is that there weren't any to be found anywhere. They are already selling lawn mowers. Who's going to mow their lawns with all this snow on the ground? Come on people! We are still working on getting our house painted. It is taking much longer than I anticipated. We haven't worked on it much at all during the weeknights since we are too tired when we get home from work. I did manage to finish my craft room though since I use the computer in there I really wanted it put back together. I took down my shelves and painted behind them on Tuesday and then made a run to IKEA to see if there were any organizers I could use. I found some and think I want more. I am also thinking of selling most all of my stamps since I haven't used them at all in 2 years. I could use the money for some other things I am wanting. Here is how I have been living since we started painting. Most of you know how much I can't stand a messy house. Well, here is proof that my house does get messy. However, this is MUCH worse than it usually gets. I am planning on finishing the living room today so I can put the plastic away and get the room back together since this is what people see when they first enter my house. Last night before I took this picture of my kitchen it was MUCH MUCH worse...you couldn't see any countertop AT ALL!
Cameron made principals pride in January. The teachers pick children that do exceptional work and submit it to the principal. They get a certificate and a picture with the principal. He achieved this last year with math and this year it was spelling. I really like this principal. We got to know each other pretty well last year since Cameron was having a bit of a problem before we had him tested for ADHD. I was in her office a few times and they weren't happy times.
Well, I better sign off. I have to get ready to take Cameron to his ice skating lesson and then come home to paint. Who's coming over to help???

I am alive!
Hello!! I'm so sorry I ditched the blog for awhile. I've been busy and that's the truth! I ended up not being able to do the page a day thing...it was just too time consuming. I will try to catch up after the house is painted.
Physiology is going well so far. I had a quiz last Friday and missed two. It seems most people missed the same one I missed. I have another quiz this Friday and possibly an exam on Monday. I don't know if I am quite ready for an exam but if we wait any longer I will have too much to process.
We just started painting the interior of our house this weekend. Why oh why did we decide to do this? It took most of the day on Saturday to paint the ceiling in our bedroom, scrapbook room and upstairs hallway. I was supposed to be painting a little today, but I don't know if that is going to happen now.
I had my nail appointment this morning and then met my friend Celeste for lunch. We went to Red Butte Cafe. I was so glad that she was able to get away from work for awhile to meet me. She mentioned in her comment on my last post that we NEED to get together soon and I had just read that comment this morning so on my way to my nail appointment I gave her a call and she said yes! It was great to catch up with her for awhile.
I checked Lisa Bearnsons blog this morning and found out I won one of her drawings that she had. I can't wait to get my Hot Chocolate kit from her! Yay me!
After I get Cameron from school I should probably do the painting that I told Michael I would try to get to. Well, I need to put some groceries away and get ready to leave to pick up Cameron.

Still more house layouts
Getting closer to being done with the house layouts.
Today I have plans to find some new lamps for my bedroom and possibly one for the family room. I am tired of the ones we have. I may even look for something to decorate the master bedroom with, but I doubt it since I really want to paint it first. We will be painting our entire house soon...oh how NOT fun that will be. We are doing it ourselves and are planning on painting the ceiling too. UGH! First we need to buy one of those Little Giant ladders. I'm a little leary of standing so far up to paint our walls, but I will have to be the one to do it since Michael won't get on the ladder that high up. I wonder why!
Other things on the agenda for today:
Plan some menus
Go to the bank
Head to Gardner Village to pick up a Valentine table runner pattern
Go over my notes for physiology
Listen to my physiology lecture from yesterday
Pick up the clutter in the house
Take Cameron to the doctor
Take Cameron to ice skating
Watch a little TV
Read a book
